JEWEL and her husband Ty Murray announced that they're getting divorced.  Jewel described the split as, quote, "A THOUGHTFUL AND TENDER UNDOING OF OURSELVES." 

 
On "Good Morning America" ROBIN THICKE admitted he's just flying by the seat of his pants when it comes to trying to get PAULA PATTON back…and he hasn't seen Paula in 4 MONTHS.

LINDSAY LOHAN filed a lawsuit against the makers of "Grand Theft Auto 5" yesterday, claiming they used her likeness for a character named Lacey Jones, who DOES kind of look like her.   

 
KATHERINE HEIGL says she almost quit acting at one point . . . because she felt betrayed by her CAREER. "it turned on me, and I didn't expect it.  I was angry at it for betraying me." 
 
Three new movies are hitting theaters this weekend.  The sci-fi flick "Earth to Echo", horror movie "Deliver Us From Evil" and a MELISSA MCCARTHY comedy called "Tammy".  
 
A website called Metail.com is letting women virtually "try on" ALICIA SILVERSTONE'S wardrobe from the movie "Clueless" . . . using a program similar to the one she used in the movie to match up her outfits. 
 
Last season on "Girls", there was a scene where the main character is singing along to a MAROON 5 song, and her boyfriend smashes the radio, because he HATES it.  ADAM LEVINE SAW the scene . . . and LOVED IT.  Quote, "It's exactly what we're going for . . . [Because] it's not even worth making music anymore unless you know it's gonna cause a reaction in people, both positive AND negative."

earned his first #1 album on the Billboard 200 album chart, with 210,000 copies of his second album, "X".  That's the largest sales week for a male British artist in nearly 10 years.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD will once again open NBC's Sunday Night Football performing “Waiting all day for Sunday night” and she will also perform a high end glamorous opening to Super Bowl 49

 
DOLLY PARTON is being accused of lip-synching during her show last Sunday at England's Glastonbury Festival.  There's a video that's kind of suspicious, or maybe not.  Anyway, Dolly took the high road and said, quote, "My boobs are fake, my hair's fake but what is real is my voice and my heart."

 
MIRANDA LAMBERT showed up at a music industry event the other day sporting a SHORTER hairstyle.
 
COLT FORD is the NRA Country Artist of the Month for July.  He says, quote, "America was built on hard work, love of God, family and friends . . . these are the core values that I grew up with and that I instill in my own family.  I'm proud to share these same ideals with my NRA Country family."

 
The upcoming Broadway show Hee Haw is promising to be a bit racier than the TV show co-hosted by Roy Clark and Buck Owens ….Brandy Clark, who is writing the music with Shane McAnally, says "It's one big love story that takes two and a half hours and with Broadway, you can push the boundaries, so there's some pretty risqué content."

 
JASON ISBELL and violinist AMANDA SHIRES recorded a stripped down version of "Born In The USA" for an upcoming BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN tribute album.  The album is called "Dead Man's Town" and it's out September 16th…complete

1.  When did we declare independence from Great Britain?  July 4th, 1776?  WRONG. It was July 2nd.  In fact, John Adams expected July 2nd to be our national independence day.
 
2.  When was the Declaration of Independence SIGNED?  July 4th, 1776, right?  WRONG.  It was signed by 56 different people over a six-month period.  And most of them signed on August 2nd, 1776.  It was formally ADOPTED by the Continental Congress on July 4th.
 
3.  The first public reading of the Declaration was on July 8th, 1776 in Philadelphia.  They rang the Liberty Bell to summon people to Independence Hall for the reading.
 
4.  John McKean was the last person to sign the Declaration, in January of 1777.
 
5.  The word "patriotism" comes from the Latin word "patria," meaning "fatherland."  So if you're a patriotic American, you're saying the United States is your FATHERLAND.
 
6.  Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on the 50th anniversary of the first Independence Day . . . July 4th, 1826.

Springsteen
Country may as well do Springsteen, some of his lyrics and ballads are more "country" than anything Nashville is producing these days.
