GREATEST TIME OF THE YEAR??
This is arguably the best time of year for sports fans. You've got the baseball playoffs, college football, pro football, the NHL and the NBA season starting at the end of the month. On top of that, you've got all the outdoors sports going or getting ready to be in season. It's not too hot to get outside with your family and play catch with your kids.
As great as summer is with vacations, and beaches, I dare say that the fall is my favorite time of the year! What about you?
On the sports side of things, there's so much to watch − but you can't possibly watch it all. At some point, you just have to say, "no mas." What is that point for you? How do you decide what to watch − and what to ignore?
I watch most any football and baseball, especially baseball this time of year, because it's the best of the best playing each other. Of course it saddens me that there are no Texas teams to root on this year, but it's not like the Astros had ANY hope of making the postseason. As for the Rangers, they threw away their chance again. Great August, miserable September to let the AL West slip away from them. Mark my words though, both teams will be better next year.
For football, I watch most any SEC or Big 12 teams. Many people ask why I still care about the Big 12. Well it's not so much that I "CARE" about them, I just want to see how they do. Plus it's great, as a football fan, to see other teams in the state of Texas gaining notoriety (not just that one school down in Austin.)
Plus, I'm blessed with a great wife who doesn't care (too much at least) that I spend hours watching sports! If your wife/girlfriend isn't as great about it, you might want to come up with a system to make sure she gets to do things she wants to. If you know you're gonna be on your butt all day Saturday, then make sure Sunday is about her and what she wants to do.
