The ladies are taking over! CMA announced that this years’ new hosts for the 53rd Annual CMA Awards will be Carrie Underwood, with Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton to celebrate legendary women in country music throughout the ceremony.
Brad Paisley took the high road on Twitter yesterday. He wrote ” As a fan of all 3 of these amazing women, I can’t wait to watch.”
The last time Dolly Parton hosted the CMA’s was back in 1988. Reba’s first time to host was in 1990 with Randy Travis, 1991 she was a solo host and again in 1992 with Vince Gill.
Combined, the three hosts hold 124 CMA Awards nominations and 22 total wins, 11 of which are for Female Vocalist of the Year. In addition, the three superstars hold a combined 14 nominations in the Entertainer of the Year category, with Parton receiving the award in 1978 and McEntire winning in 1986.
Final nominees for “The 53rd Annual CMA Awards” will be announced Wednesday, Aug. 28 live during ABC’s “Good Morning America” from their Times Square studio in New York and via livestream following the broadcast.
