Four Good Things About Being Single

Need a Halloween costume?
Believe it or not, you can now buy an Ice Bucket Challenge Halloween costume . . . it's just a blue bucket with a sheet of plastic coming out, with fake ice cubes attached. They're selling it for $40, plus at least $10 for shipping and handling . . . and the company says they'll donate $10 to ALS for every costume they sell. A redneck can make one of these costumes for free, using the shower curtain from the no tell motel and the plastic ice bucket from the room….

BRANTLEY GILBERT is not trying to hide that he was arrested more than once when he was young.  He's even selling T-shirts with his real mugshot on them.  He says, quote, "The hardest part was finding a mugshot that looked unapologetic.  Most of the pictures had that 'Please don't call my mom' look."

BLAKE SHELTON has a distinct opinion of what his new song "Neon Light" sounds like, and if you don't agree, you're wrong.  He says, quote, "The song, the melody, the chorus is so GEORGE JONES or GEORGE STRAIT.  It really is. "Of course, I'm always going to have the haters and critics out there that say it's not.  But then, kiss my ass!  I know more about those records than a lot of people."

MERLE HAGGARD is a respected old school artist.  He's also 87 years old so he gets a pass for sounding like a typical grandpappy.  He was asked if he listens to today's country music and his answer almost sounds made up, but it's not.
He said, quote, "I've gotta be honest, I can't find the entertainment in it. I wonder if that record they're making is something they can actually do.  Too much boogie boogie wham-bam and not enough substance."

Four Good Things About Being Single

1. You spend four-to-five hours less on chores every week.  According to a study at the University of Michigan, single women do 13 hours of chores a week, compared to 17 for married women.  For single guys it's 9 hours, and 14 hours for married men.
2. You're more rested.  Single people get almost 30 minutes of extra sleep a night, on average, partly because they don't have to share a bed with another person.
3. You're more likely to do well at work.  One study looked at the careers of scientists, and found that the ones who stayed single longer ended up peaking later in life.  And female scientists who have their doctorate are twice as likely to be single.
Although, those could probably both be seen as negatives too.
4. You can spend your money however you want to.  A recent study found that 35% of couples who combine finances admit they've LIED about something they bought, or hidden something about their finances.
