The New Thanksgiving Trend Is "Thanksgiving in a Bucket" . . . Layering All the Dishes on Top of Each Other

When you load up your plate on Thanksgiving, all the food winds up touching each other in a giant carb-loaded orgy.  So the latest Thanksgiving trend KNOWS all the food blends together . . . and saves you the hassle of serving them separately.

It's called "Thanksgiving in a Bucket."  When you're making Thanksgiving dinner, instead of having everything on its own separate dish, you layer everything into a bucket . . . kind of like a Thanksgiving parfait.

You put stuffing on the bottom, because it's best at absorbing all the other flavors.  Then mashed potatoes on top of that . . . then a green vegetable . . . then sweet potatoes . . . turkey and gravy . . . and finally cranberry sauce.

And you serve it with a big cake spatula so you can give someone an entire slice of Thanksgiving all at once.

Three Friends You Shouldn't Work Out With

 According to researchers….

1.  Your friend who's in crazy good shape.  Unless you're ALSO in great shape.  A recent study found you're three times more likely to keep working out if you do it with someone who's about the SAME age, weight, and fitness level.

2.  Your friend who always yells stuff like, "You've got this!"  Researchers at Michigan State University had people hold a yoga pose, and timed them.

And it turned out they actually held the pose longer WITHOUT someone saying things like, "You can do it" or "Keep it up."  Because even though the person is trying to encourage you, they sounded patronizing instead, and make it harder to focus.

3.  Your friend who HATES working out.  Researchers at the University of New Hampshire found that when they asked people for a positive memory about exercise, they were much more likely to go to the gym in the next week.

And the opposite was true when they asked for a negative memory.  So the idea is that if you always work out with someone who talks about how TERRIBLE the gym is, YOU'LL start feeling negative about it, and then you'll stop going.

Time to Play "Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction" with Jason Aldean

Wikipedia is known for having the potential for a lot of inaccuracies.  So, Taste of Country played a game of "Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction" with JASON ALDEAN.  Turns out, yeah, you can't totally count on them.  Here are some highlights:

His full legal name is Jason Aldine Williams.  Fact.  (But he did change the spelling to Aldean.)

He chose his stage name because Jason Williams sounded too generic, plus three NBA players at the time had that name.  Fact on it sounding generic, but Fiction about the NBA players.

He was born in Macon, Georgia.  Fact.

He's had 12 Number One singles.  Not exactly.  That information's outdated.  It's 13 now.

His parents divorced when he was three.  Fact.

He went to the same high school, Windsor Academy, as CNN's NANCY GRACE.  Fact.  (Although NOT at the same time.  He's 37 and she's 54, according to Wikipedia.  Heyo.  Actually, I double-checked and Wikipedia is right.)

The Bigger Your Engagement Ring, the Shorter Your Marriage

A new study found the BIGGER your engagement ring . . . the SMALLER the chance your marriage will last.  So go ahead and buy your girlfriend a diamond that you need a magnifying glass to see.

Researchers at Emory University in Atlanta found that men who spent between $2,000 and $4,000 on an engagement ring were 130% more likely to get divorced than guys who spent $500 to $2,000.

They also found that people whose weddings cost more than $20,000 are 350% more likely to get divorced than people whose weddings cost under $10,000.

One caveat on all this:  The good people at Emory don't seem to know what wedding stuff actually costs.

The average guy now spends $5,598 on an engagement ring . . . $1,598 more than the high end of their range in the study.  And the average wedding is now $28,858 . . . $8,858 more than the high end of their range in the study.
