Sleeping Naked Could Be Good For You…

COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS:

Eric Church Believes the Term "Outlaw" is "Misused" in Country Music

You probably know that WAYLON JENNINGS and WILLIE NELSON spearheaded the "outlaw movement" of the 1970s.  They did things THEIR way, not caring how Nashville felt about it.

But these days it seems like EVERYONE claims to be an outlaw . . . and ERIC CHURCH has a problem with that.

He says, quote, "I feel like the outlaw word is the low-hanging fruit that everybody goes for.  When you don't really know how to identify something, you reach for that.  And that part bothers me.

"I mean, I love that era of music.  And it's not just the Waylons and Willies.  That was a broader era than just that.  But the actual name of it is something that I think gets used a lot.  And misused.

Brandy Clark Says Her Music is For Real Women, and About Real Women

Is it a law that every woman on the planet has body issues?  Even BRANDY CLARK, who seems pretty secure in her own skin, is having trouble adjusting to the spotlight now that she's getting a lot of attention.

During an interview with "People" she said, quote, "Just like all women, I wish I was smaller.  There are things about my face I'd change. But like all women I do the best I can.  I'm realistic.

"I'm never going to be skinny.  It's not in my make-up.  I can just be the best me."

And yet, when it comes to describing her sound, well, she knows exactly where she stands there.

She says, quote, "My music is for real women and it's about real women and I am a real woman.  And I think that's helpful because I'm not threatening.  [Women] think, 'She looks like us.'"

(Brandy's up for two Grammy awards.  She's nominated for Best New Artist . . . and her album "12 Stories" is up for Best Country Album.  The show airs on February 8th.)

COUNTRY MUSIC RANDOM EXTRAS:

There is now proof that DIERKS BENTLEY gets "Drunk On a Plane".  He posted an Instagram of him, THOMAS RHETT, and JAREN JOHNSTON of THE CADILLAC THREE, on a plane to Arizona, downing a few cold ones.

(Dierks flew to Phoenix so he could perform, along with GAVIN DEGRAW, at the Super Bowl pre-game festivities.  I trust he'll be sobered-up by then.)

Would you like to see how much fun country stars' wives and significant others are having these days?  CMT.com checked the social media accounts of JAKE OWEN, plus BRIAN KELLEY and TYLER HUBBARD of Florida Georgia Line . . . and grabbed a dozen photos of them and their ladies wearing silly costumes, going on family outings, and even hanging out with each other.

SHANIA TWAIN is coming to TV.  ABC will be airing "Shania:  Still the One:  Live From Vegas" on February 28th.  You can grab more info at ShaniaTwain.com.

JIM ED BROWN announced on his website that he's cancer-free.  He wrote, "I am in remission.  There are not enough thanks for the prayers, well wishes, and support I've received during the toughest time of my life.  I'm so grateful."  In fact, he's doing so well he'll be performing at the Grand Ole Opry tomorrow night AND Saturday.

FREE ADVICE THURSDAY:

Sleeping naked could be good for you…

You may like your partner more: A 2014 survey found that 57% of those who slept nude reported being happy in their relationship.  That was 9% higher than PJ wearers.

It could help prevent diabetes:  It’s a bit of a stretch, but here’s the logic… Adults have small amounts of brown fat (aka “good fat”) in their bodies, and a 2014 study looked how bedroom temperature affected the fat.  Males who slept in cooler temperatures had almost twice as much brown fat and their insulin sensitivity was better.

It’s how our ancestors did it:  If you’re a Paleo-dieter who eats like a caveman, why not sleep like one too?  Neurologist, Rachel Salas with Johns Hopkins Center says, “back in the cave days, people slept naked.  It was, in part, a means of protection from predators, and that feeling of safety could be imparted by sleeping sleeping similarly in modern day.”

It could be better for the immune system:  According to reports, when skin-on-skin contact occurs, our adrenal glands get a message to lighten up on the production of the stress hormone cortisol.
