COUNTRY NEWS

Carrie Underwood Had Her Baby Boy Last Friday, And Announced it Yesterday

CARRIE UNDERWOOD definitely has a tight-lipped crew of family and friends.  Because she and MIKE FISHER became parents last Friday, but nobody heard a peep until she announced it yesterday on Instagram.

She posted a photo of her son's hand and wrote, "Tiny hands and tiny feet.  God has blessed us with an amazing gift.  Isaiah Michael Fisher . . . born on February 27th.  Welcome to the world, sweet angel."  Carrie is 31, Mike's 34.

Obviously, Carrie won't be working for while, but when she does get back into it, expect her to write some "boy-related" music.  She recently said quote, "I feel bad I don't have any songs about boys.  All my stuff is like, 'All-American Girl' and 'Mama's Song'.

"It's like, 'When I watch my baby grow up, I'll only want what's best for her.'  Poor little boy baby Fisher is kind of getting the shaft on this one . . . but your life works its way into your art, and I'm sure it will at some point."

Ty Herndon's Still the "Same Old Redneck" He Was Before Coming Out

Not only is TY HERNDON out and proud, but he's ready to say it in song.  He's been writing new music, and he's not backing away from the truth.

He says, quote, "I may be the first man in country music to sing a love song to another man.  And I'm very proud to do that.  I'm not changing the he's for she's.  It's straight-on who I love.

"Love is universal.  I'm keeping it unisex but there are a few songs that I've written that I wrote about my own life.  That's the one thing about country music . . . you got to sing what you know."

There are things he's still adjusting to:  Quote, "I want to get [through] my first year of being an out gay man.  I'm still getting my footing with all that."

And there are things that will never change:  Quote, "I'll still remain true as a country artist.  I'm still the same old redneck I was before I came out."
