Mix your Apples & Potatoes

This may not be about a country music news, but hey, everyone's gotta eat!

Cosmopolitan.com, yes cosmopolitan.com, gave me a few tips on how to keep all those farmer's market goodies from going bad so quickly. It's one of those thing's I've gotta share.

1. Put paper towels in the salad drawer to absorb condensation veggies generate when they chill.

2. Don't separate bananas before eating. Keeping them together as long as possible keeps them from going brown!

3. Put an apple in your bag of potatoes. Apparently apples produce ethylene gas that keeps potatoes fresh and firm!

4. Wash berries in 1 cup vinegar and 3 cups water before refridgerating, and make sure they dry completely! There's nothing more sad than wanting a berry, and finding them covered in fuzz.

5. Freeze herbs in olive oil in an ice tray. When you're ready to use them, just toss the cube in the pan.
