Five Photos You Should Never Use on LinkedInbecause they're not professional enough

1.  A photo of yourself in the mirror.  Selfies in general are too casual, unless you' can't TELL it's a selfie.

2.  Any photo with a crazy filter on it.  If you want to Photoshop out a pimple or something, that's okay.  But your LinkedIn photo should show what you ACTUALLY look like.

3.  A photo where you look super-intense.  It's okay to look serious, you just don't want to look TOO serious.  According to experts, smiling makes you seem more trustworthy.

4.  A full-body action shot, like a photo where you're about to bungee jump.  On LinkedIn, it's important for people to see your face and eyes.  So you're better off sticking with a boring headshot.

5.  A photo with your pet.  Unless you're a veterinarian, it's not professional enough for LinkedIn.  So save your cat photos for Instagram and Facebook . . . where STILL no one wants to see them.  But at least it won't cost you a job.
